Pictures and more pictures!

A Nature Walk

After too many days in the house, we were all a little stir crazy, so we decided to go for a walk on the Greenway near our house. Unfortunately, it started to rain five minutes into our excursion. We still were able to find deer tracks, climb on rocks, and get muddy. It was a busy five minutes!
Heading out! Look out woods, here we come!

Ella in her wagon (I found this on the side of the road to go in the trash. I took it home, fixed the wheels and it is good as new!)

Explorers extraordinaire!

This would have been a great shot but Ella wanted no part of sitting on a big rock. She kept saying, "I falling!!"

No matter that it was a short trip, or that it was muddy, we had fun, and that is all that matters!

Christmas, the sequel

The day after Christmas, my parents came to visit with a "sleigh full of toys and goodies". It was fun and the kids love for them to visit!!!
Ella opening package #1 and Grace waiting patiently.
Present opening must stop to pose for the picture.

Just what he asked for!

A Puppy's Life

"Hey, Daisy! Are you awake?"

"Daisy, do you see all this paper!!!! Do you think it's okay to chew it up?"

"Abby!!! Stop biting my tail!! Now!!!!"

"I wonder what is in this stocking?"

"Christmas is so tiring. I need a nap, don't you, Daisy?"

Christmas 2007

Christmas morning was the usual wonderful chaos! Jonathon got up at 4am but we didn't open gifts until 730am. Everyone got what was on their wish list, so I think it was a huge success. Here are some of the highlights.
Ella got a Darby doll. Needless to say, she loved it!

Jonathon got a new PS2 game that has got a real workout!

Grace got a new robe-believe it or not, this was #1 on her list!

Ella really enjoyed the act of opening the gifts. Here she is opening Daddy's PS2 game.

Les told her to be surprised- this is hilarious!

Pajama Party!

Friday night, my friend Laura's 3 kids spent the night with us so Laura and Chris could host his Christmas party. It was fun and the kids were great! For Ella, it was the first time she had a friend sleep over. They were too cute after their "tubbie"!

Here they are table dancing!!

Abby Mania!

As you can guess, Abby has been the center of attention for the last 24 hours. Today, after we cleaned up the Christmas tree wipe out, Grace and our neighbor Grace were playing with the puppy and set up a photo shoot. It was too cute!

Don't you wish you could read her mind!

Our new addition- Abby!

Yesterday, we surprised the kids with an early Christmas present. We loaded everyone up in the van and went on what we call a "Daddy Adventure", which is a fancy name for Les driving without a destination in mind. They kept asking and we kept avoiding. Needless to say they were very happy with where we ended up and the surprise!

On the ride home!

All settled in and in her favorite spot- a lap!

Monkeying Around

Monday of last week, we went to a birthday party at Monkey Joe's for our friends kids, Ashlee and Luke Keller. It is full of inflatable jumping things and it is a blast! The kids were happily wore out by the end of the party.

Jonathon heading up to the top of the slide at the end of the obstacle course.

Grace zooming down one of the many cool slides!

They had a toddler area, but Ella was fearless! She went on everything her brother and sister did!

Ella entering the obstacle course. Of course Mommy went too!

This one is for Mrs. Cindy! Ella was obsessed with the hand sanitizer! She would play then clean her hands, then play some more, then more sanitizer!

Welcome Home!

We came home from church to a complete disaster! Yesterday, we got the kids a new puppy for Christmas. She is very cute. Her name is Abby. Well, while we went to church, Abby got out of her "Les created" enclosure and the whole house went to pot! We came home to the Christmas tree on the floor and Daisy under it!! Who would have thought one little puppy could cause so much trouble.

Too true!

I found this on my friend Jen's blog and had to share. This is too true!

Dear Santa,
I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited their doctor's office more than my doctor and sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years. Here are my Christmas wishes:I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy. If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music, a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals, and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone. On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, 'Yes, Mommy' to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting 'Don't eat in the living room' and 'Take your hands off your brother,' because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container. If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely. It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is calling and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back. Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold.Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.
Yours Always,
MOM...
P.S. One more thing...you can cancel all my requests if you can keep my children young enough to believe in Santa.

Christmas Card Attempts

The annual picture for the Christmas card isn't usually hard, because my kids take good pictures, but it still has to be great! Here are two that didn't make the cut. I will post the winner after I mail the cards - I am such a slacker!
Cute, but Ella is squinting!

Very cute, but the girls have crazy hair!

School Pictures

I forgot to bring school pictures home at Thanksgiving, so here they are. Sorry about the quality. I used our scanner. You have to admit, those are two fine looking students. I will have the real ones at Christmas- when you come to see us! (hint, hint!)

Grace - Kindergarten

Jonathon - 4th grade
