Just because

Bless you!

Last night, I was sitting in the playroom and Ella and Jonathon were watching TV on my bed and I sneezed. Ella leaned over so she could see me through the doorway and said, "Bless you, Mommy." Too sweet!

The Spud Bud

Grace had a school project (she is in Kindergarten) called the Spud Bud. It was a little person made out of a potato that lived with our family for a few days and then she had to journal about it's adventures. As you can see Elaina, the spud bud (Grace named HER!) had a great time in the back yard on the slide. I am sad to say that Elaina is no longer with us, potato's have a short life span. And no, I did not eat her!!
I love the hair blowing in the breeze!

YEAH God!!

As a result of attending the Thirst conference at our church, we have started having prayer time each night before the kids go to bed. The one thing God really spoke to me about during those 4 days was making my family my ministry. You would think that would be obvious, but sometimes all they get are the leftovers of everything I give to every body else (teaching at MMO, teaching SS, coaching). I am really trying hard to put them first. But back to prayer time. We all sit in a circle in the play room and hold hands. We each take turns praying and when you are finished you squeeze the hand of the person beside you. We have done very well and only skipped it one night. Each night after we finish, Ella cheers. She claps and screams YEAH! Last night, we prayed in a different order (normally one of the kids start, and I finish) and I prayed in the middle of the group. Ella stops us and yells, "I didn't get to pray!" I guess she thought since I was praying, we were done. Once she realized she would still get a turn, she was fine and did her usual cheer when we were all done. YEAH God!!!

Egg Huntin'

After dyeing eggs in the kitchen, we hunted them in the front yard. So fun! Cowgirl Grace found the first one!
Racing to check in the mailbox
I found one!
Dad helping find the "super hard" egg
All done! Notice the egg hunting attire- Jonathon still in his Easter finest, Ella in her pajamas (clothing of choice these days) and Grace sporting a pink cowgirl hat. Gotta love their style!

Egg Dyein' Fun

We may look innocent, but we know how to make a mess.

Mr. Egg, are you finished?

Easter Pictures

Happy Easter!! The kids got all dressed and even though we were late for church (which is actually the norm), I took a few minutes to snap a couple of shots (before they got dirty :)

Look, I'm a princess!
Tough guys wear pink
Grace loved her dress!
When we got home, I tried to set up a photo shoot in the front yard, but Ella would not cooperate. Tired and hungry do not produce great pictures.

Super Cool Fun

Today we went to a super cool fun playground at La Fiesta shopping center near Carowinds. We had a blast, as you can see.
Slip sliding fun!

Mommy! Do you see me?

Climbing up the bumps to the top of the slide. Smile girls.

The playground is HUGE!

The best mode of transportation in a super cool fun playground is big brother. :)

Little Mommy

A mommy's work is never done!To quote Ella, "This girl is soaked!"

Its a lot of work being a mommy, but it is sooo worth it!

Extra shampoo required

This is the results of allowing a 6 year old to pick a hair painting kit for her shopping treat and allowing her and her 2 year old sister to take it upstairs, unsupervised!

As you can see, Grace doesn't look too bad, but Ella is a mess!

Ella's buddy

My mom, my aunt Prissy and my cousin Emilee came to visit this weekend and Mom and Emilee went with us to the movies. As you can see, Emilee and Ella were good buddies the whole time.

Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Grace's 6th birthday by taking her and four friends to the movies to see Horton Hears a Who (very cute movie, the kids loved it). It was a less expensive alternative to a party and was really a lot of fun.
The gang - Stephanie, Lizzie, Draye, Grace and Sophie

All set for the show with snacks

"Happy Birthday to you" Blow, Grace!

Birthdays are the best!

Mysteries

Things happen in our house that really have no explanation. I am sure these types of things never happen to you, but if they do and you have an explanation, please share.

How does the chairs from the little table in the play room end up in my bathroom? And why am I the only one who can put them back?

Why do my older two children insist on watching TV on my bed, in the process destroying the piles of folded clothes, instead of watching the TV in the playroom? And when said clothes are disturbed, why am I the only one who sees them laying on the floor?

Why can't anyone other than me see all the things piled on the stairs, needing to go upstairs, when they walk right past them?

Why doesn't anyone notice the piles of dirty clothes until the item they want to wear is in said pile? And why am I the only one who works the washer without begin instructed by another adult? I honestly think Satan invented laundry. In fact, I am sure. There were no clothes until Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden, so laundry is Satan's fault. Amen.

I know there are answers to all of these and many more of the mysteries of our lives in this madhouse, but I have no idea what they are. Now back to the dishes that no one knows how to do but me (and on rare occasion, the hubby).

Did you notice that this was a pity party post? Thank you for indulging me.

The Chair

Obviously this chair is broken, every time Ella gets in it she goes to sleep. :) This is her favorite nap spot and at night, when she doesn't want to go to bed, she begs to sit in the chair where she eventually goes to sleep. I guess the chair isn't so bad, after all.

Blogger Friends Unite!

I just had a God moment. I got a comment on the Happy BDay Grace post from a 14 year old girl named Nancy. Her tag line asked if there is any reason to life. Well, YES!! His name is Jesus Christ! I left a comment but I would love it if we could flood her with the message of Jesus. She said she found me by clicking the Next button at the top of her blog, so as you know, there are no coincidences, just God-cidences! I am attaching her link below. If this doesn't work, you can reach her through the Birthday post for Grace. Her screen name is NancyNew. Thank you in advance for helping me plant a seed for God.

My forgotten child

My mother accused me of not giving Jonathon as much blog time as the girls, and sadly she is right. Unfortunately, when you are 10 you don't do funny things like Ella or "diva" things like Grace, so photo ops are limited. He is at this very moment doing something totally photo worthy but I am not with him! He left this morning for a 3 day field trip to Barrier Island near Charleston. I can honestly say that if he was any more excited this morning, I think he would have popped out of his skin. I can't wait to see the pictures from his disposable camera and to hear all the stories! Have fun, Big Jon!!

Racing Day

Today was the RA race at our church. RA's is a boys mission group and the race is how they raise money. Each boy can build a pine car and race it against the other boys. It is really fun and the dads get into as much if not more than the boys. This year Les helped our friend Chris with his son's car, so he had a double interest in today's race.

Jonathon and Bradley watching the cars come down the track. Go!

Scott racing with their drivers and cars. Good job guys! (Chris, Jonathon, Bradley and Les)

Happy Birthday Grace!!

Today my girl turned 6! I can't believe it! Where did the years go? Happy Birthday sweet girl! We love you!

G- gorgeous
R- radiant
A- amazing
C- caring
E- every one's friend

This is Grace's prize she won today. I don't think she could be any prouder!

Exhausted!

I wish I could attach sound with this, because this cutie was snoring like her Daddy. :)

Another Ella moment

Yesterday, Ella came downstairs wrapped in what looked like just a blanket and said "I took a shower." I just laughed and picked up the camera. Ella, what am I going to do with you.
