VBS Highlights!

VBS was awesome! What a wonderful week! Here are some pictures to show you some of the fun.

Jonathon and a new friend- Jonathon nicknamed him Tank. Tank had only moved 8 days before VBS! They spent the whole week together.

Me in all my glory. Every night, I played a part in a skit. My character was Mrs. Haveafit. It was so much fun! And, the kids really got into helping her find her lost luggage. Here she finally found her "most important thing" which they looked for all week. If you can't tell, its her bible.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for:

1. washable markers and the little girls who love them
2. 54 kids in my squad last night at VBS
3. watermelon
4. spaghetti for dinner tonight
5. free movies
6. naps in the afternoon
7. a growing belly that holds a growing baby
8. freshly vacuumed floor
9. my kids- they are awesome
10. my husband- even though he sometimes doesn't get it :)

VBS!!

I love VBS! It is so awesome to see all the kids learning about God and His son Jesus! Our first night, Sunday, we had 305 kids!!! It is humbling to think that God is entrusting us with spreading His word to that many little hearts.
I am working with the Kind. squad. Go ClownFish!!! We have had 44 each night and we hope to break 50 tonight.
Each night, I get to be a very silly character in an ongoing skit. Her name is "Ms. Haveafit". For those of you who know me personally, you know this is not a far stretch. I will post a picture of me in costume after I download them off the camera. Les has been taking pictures each night, so there are a lot!!
My kids are having a great time and really getting into the spirit of things. Last night, we sprayed Grace's hair orange! Jonathon's squad is red, so he wore a red hat that looks like a giant pom pom. Even Ella got into the spirit with a lei and tropical hat.
2 nights down, 3 to go!!

Sisterly Love

Ella is sick. She has strep throat. We got a shot at the doctor yesterday, so she is on the upswing. This morning I gave her a Tylenol melt away just to make her feel better. She didn't want to take it. I gave her some juice and went to fix breakfast. As we sat down at the table, I asked her if she took the medicine. She said No, so I asked her where it was (don't want the dog eating Tylenol) and she said Grace took it. I asked Grace where it was, thinking she put it somewhere. Grace said, I ate it. I asked why and she said Ella asked me to. I guess that is true sisterly love when you will take her medicine for her.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for:

1. little girls who love to climb and jump
2. VBS starts Sunday!
3. the Orange captured their first W tonight
4. a good night hitting (a double and a triple)
5. Jonathon LOVED football camp!
6. Doctors who will give shots instead of prescriptions -Ella is sick :(
7. tomorrow is payday
8. Sonic ice
9. having a 10 year old to watch out for his sisters at the ball field
10. playing "what to name the baby" with the kids- they have some interesting suggestions!!

Sleepover Fun

Wednesday night Grace had a sleepover with our neighbor's daughter, Grace. The next morning, Les was letting the dog out when Melissa, our neighbor, called him over to see this- the girls had built a fort and totally crashed on the floor. Too cute!

Kids eat FREE!

Les has been travelling a lot this week, so Wednesday night, me and the kiddos went out to eat. We went to Captain Steve's where kids eat free. Come to find out, it is 2 kids for each adult and because Ella is under 3, she was also free. Our grand total with tax and tip came to $14.17! I was so happy. Here are the kids entertaining themselves while waiting for the food to come- Grace is singing and Jonathon is not. I would have a picture of Ella, but she was asleep on my lap. :)

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for:

1. I now have a 5th grader and 1st grader
2. running home to Mom (see above)
3. pool passes come tomorrow (don't ask, its a long story!)
4. a new house for my brother
5. cookies that just came out of the oven
6. sleeping in!!!
7. Ella is getting close to being potty-trained
8. comfy shorts
9. my amazing kids and wonderful husband
10. Schools out for summer!! (are you singing?)
