FYI
The battery on our scale died!! I can't weigh until I get a new one. Counting it as a blessing!
Small change- walking every day (1 mile) to pick Grace up from school pushing a double stroller with Ella (37lbs) & Matthew (18+lbs) ; most of the way home is up hill!

Back to School
Today I sent my two oldest back to school but for the first time they were not at the same school- Grace is in the 2nd and Jonathon is in the 6th.
My 2nd grader! She was so excited to go to school and had a great day! This year she is a walker because they built a new elementary school 1/2 mile from our front door! Catching a ride with Dad on the first day

Beginning
Beginning to change things is not easy. Old habits are hard to break! Busy schedules do not make it easy to squeeze in the exercise. Needless to say, I think this may be harder than I thought. I am determined to lose the weight, so I will keep trying. Our pastor said something yesterday that really struck a cord with me in this area. "It is not about WILL power, it is about HIS power" I just have to continue giving this to God and allowing Him to take away those urges for things I don't need and are sabotaging me in this and open up time for me to exercise.

The girl in the mirror
Lately, (honestly for a while) I haven't been real happy with how the girl in the mirror looks. I have been hanging on the excuse of "just had a baby", but that baby turns 7 months old next Saturday, so that excuse just doesn't cut it anymore. I also have been telling myself that I am too busy (the whole 4 kids thing; breastfeeding) to exercise on a regular basis. Well, I am just over that. I need to take care of me! I need to be healthier to take care of this family and that begins with a few smarter choices- drink more water, smaller portions, being more active. I have challenged myself to lose 20 pounds and you all are going to help keep me accountable. I need someone there to remind me that it is okay if I slip up and have a bad week and I need someone there to give me a pat on the back on a good week. I am not going to set a hard timetable, but my goal is by Valentine's day. To help see progress, I am going to take a before picture (this takes real courage!!!) and weekly pictures (still lots more courage!!) until I get to take that beautiful after shot!! I will be weighing and posting progress every Friday. If you feel led, join me. Ready, set, go!!!

My blessings
I love being a mother. But I truly am humbled that God chose me to be the mother of 4 amazing children- my blessings!
